Culinary Demonstrations at the MarketplaceCulinary Demonstrations will be held at scheduled times at the Chef Skip Laskody Demonstration Stage located in the Coastline Center’s picturesque Riverview Terrace Room. Demonstrations will be presented by Experts in Foods and Wine who will share their knowledge, experience and artistry. Demonstrations are free with festival admission.
In 2016, the festival’s Demonstration Stage was dedicated in memory of local Chef and popular TV Personality, Skip Laskody. Chef Laskody was a long-time festival supporter and volunteer, each year hosting the Demonstration Stage that now bears his name. The 2018 Skip Laskody Culinary Demonstration Stage is sponsored once again by “Farmin on Front”, Wilmington’s Urban Grocery Store, located at 143 North Front Street in Downtown Wilmington. “Farmin on Front” showcases the best of what's local including seafood, meats, produce, & bakery and provides the opportunity to see and purchase what's being produced right here in the Carolina region! Features of the new store include a walk-in "beer barn," a build-your-own-growler station, a snip-your-own-herbs wall and a vending machine dispensing glass bottles of milk. Roughly one-quarter of the store is refrigerated displays devoted to meats and seafood, "local whenever possible." Visit them today! “Carolina Farmin”, the parent corporation of “Farmin on Front” is an area family owned business sourcing and distributing local seafood, meats, produce, dairy products, and desserts wholesaling to hundreds of local restaurants, and operating “test kitchens” for product testing and development. Chefs from their Test Kitchens will be providing two demonstrations during the weekend and products needed for the additional festival demonstrations by other Food/Wine/Specialty Food Experts.
