Sponsorship pays for the room, the equipment and the staging, which is what allows ticket income to reach the charity rather than the overheads. The previous site acknowledged its sponsors by edition.
Who was thanked
The 2016 acknowledgements included local providers of mobility and accessibility equipment and of senior living advice, alongside businesses from across the region. The list as published is kept here.
Why it is kept
Because an acknowledgement is a promise of a kind, and removing it later is a small breach of it. Companies that supported a charity fundraiser in a given year should stay on the record of that year.
